Much to Sam’s delight I dug out the one Christmas CD we have and forced us to listen to it yesterday evening. The impromptu sing along leads me to believe that Sam secretly loves it and isn’t quite as much as a grinch as he lets on.
Adding to the Christmas vibe are all the new decorations that have gone up all around the NNU (not in the nurseries though, apart from one mum who has decorated her cot in tinsel!). The senior nurse oversaw the erection of the decorations with military precision – using a tape measure to ensure babauls and ribbons were exactly level and evenly distributed. Looks lovely!
I also got to go to my first (and last) Christmas party of the year. Each year St George’s and First Touch hold a party for all current and previous families who have been on the NNU. It was so lovely for us to attend and see all the babies and kids looking so healthy and happy. We even got to meet up with a mum who was on the ward and whose baby has made it home already. Just what the doctor ordered!
Here is Santa making an early appearance.
Other than that Savannah remains stable and fairly static in her oxygen requirements. She seems pretty chilled and is being a good little girl…
She is mostly sleeping but we are still getting cuddles and moments when she is wide awake to enjoy 🙂

She really is beautiful – especially those gorgeous eyes! xx
