So at last it seems like Savannah is beginning to fight her infection and the antibiotics are kicking in. SJ is starting to become more settled but has had to have more support from the ventilator over these last few days.
She definitely seems less grumpy and is tolerating being handled (she was hyper sensitive at the start of the week and any time anyone touched or even went near her she had big drops and destats).
The immobilisation drugs are also wearing off so she is becoming more active and even opening her eyes and having a look around. The ventilator settings are starting to come down again and there’s even talk of trying to extubate her again in a couple more days.
Only small steps but we are starting to move in the right direction and she has hit another weight milestone and is now over 1 kilogram so now heavier than a bag of sugar…Yay!

Glad to hear some positive news. Your updates are eagerly awaited each day. I Know how busy and preoccupied you are, so appreciate your taking the time to post. Must say, though that the days without any are worrisome for us natural worriers.

Yippee – one of her first milestones!!! So pleased she’s reached her 1st kilo and so relieved she’s having a better day. I hope you get some more family cuddles soon xxx
