Slow and steady

Savannah continues to make good and steady progress, albeit at her own pace. The oxygen pressure has been stepped down again to 4.0 which SJ seems to be tolerating well… Next step 3.0 and, if she is stable on that, a move to just the nasal canular oxygen (the system we will likely go home on).

As the pressures reduces Savannah’s skills at breastfeeding are increasing.  She seems to be getting more of a hang of it but still has lazy days / times where she just kicks back and waits to be fed via the tube.  The night nurses are going to feed her via the cup and I am hanging around every day so hopefully we can get the feeding tube out soon!

The eye doctors were also back this morning for her second post surgery check up and everything is going in the direction the surgeons would like, so she will move back to bi-weekly check ups which will be good as the checks (and eye drops) knocks her out of sorts all day making even more sleepy and increasing her oxygen.

Other than that not much to report other than more visitors and a lovely excuse to have a couple of diners out with good company.
