I’ve been waiting for a positive development before writing the next blog post but unfortunately Savannah is being a little naughty and remains unsettled and having moments of de-saturation.

Savannah remains on the ventilator and the results of the blood tests taken yesterday show that she has picked up an infection. She has had her antibiotics changed and is currently being given medicine to immobilise her so she doesn’t struggle so much. Along with the morphine she has been given she shouldn’t be aware of it all (and at least she won’t remember any of this!).

But it seems Savannah has other plans and keeps trying to do the opposite of what the doctors are trying to get her to do. She is pretty stubborn and even though the drugs she’s been given are supposed to effectively paralyse her, SJ is still fidgeting around!  So she is definitely a fighter and potentially a handful when she’s older!!

It is distressing to see Savannah upset but she will be closely monitored over the next couple of hours and over night and hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and she will start to feel better soon.
